Rediscovered my love for artist Pavel Tchelitchew. I saved a postcard featuring one of his paintings that I kept for many years but today found this incredible portrait he painted. It would not be surprising to find that Alex Grey had influence from him.
While in the library to scan some textbook material for my class, I quickly flipped through the recent copy of Artforum Magazine. Found a beautiful picture of the Basilica of the Fourteen Holy Helpers located in Germany. This church is an amazing representation of late Baroque, one of my favorite periods.
Afterward, I searched online for more pictures.
Then I found an article and picture featuring the artwork of the filmmaker Derek Jarman. I did not realize he had created works like this series that used unconventional mediums such as tar and other mixed media. I really like them.
