My artist friend Nikki and I tore through my art studio today, getting rid of two huge rusty desks, old wood, and PVC armatures. We swept many times and rearranged most things in the space. It's only a beginning, but it made me think about the many, many hours that artists spend on setting up and cleaning their spaces. I think this is especially true of installation artists that work in many mediums.
I plan on going to the studio again next week to start going through every box and purging. After my collage group met, we visited an art show featuring calligraphy. These were my favorites.
I finished several collages I had started. It seems that everyone was very productive today.
Today I worked on editing photos from a recent photo excursion to Crockett. I greatly challenged myself by using all manual settings, which took a lot of concentration.
Spent time today with my photographer friend John who helped me set up lighting and gave me good instruction. I'm excited by the results.
