Collage day at a new Venue

4/30/2017

Most of us were getting frustrated working in the library because of the disgusting bathrooms and not being able to have food or drinks. We have a new place working in an artist collective.

My first collage of the day.

I finally finished this one. It's take me a long time to finally glue it all down.

I am painting and drawing my left leg and hand quite a bit lately. I'm excited with some of them.

I worked on the hand painting I completed last night. I would add a few lighter spots, but I like it so much better.

Drawing my foot and hand

4/28/2017

Tonight I pulled out my watercolors and created two paintings, one of my foot and hand. I'm happy with the first and the second one I absolutely despise. Perhaps I will work on it again.

Another Foot Drawing

Spent a good amount of time last night, sketching my foot. It was an enjoyable session.

I also adjusted the proportions of the butt on this sketch. It could still be made a lot smaller.

Altered a Recent Drawing

I fiddled around with this hand drawing that I was previously not happy with. I still want to make some big changes. For example, I'd like to remove a lot of the yellow on the inner arm and alter it to more neutral tones.

Foot Drawing

4/16/2017

Last night, I worked on drawing my foot for a really long time. The upper ankle was colored too thickly and because I used an oil stick, was not able to erase back to white.

Today I got up and worked on the drawing again and as I was erasing, the paper began to disintegrate. Instead of fighting this, I just continued. I'd like to go back in and add a tiny bit of color to the white paper underneath, so that the drawing seems more cohesive. Right now, it invokes a skin rash.

Figure Drawing at Monument

I really like working in this space. It's also great to be able to pick which model to draw since they have 2 or 3 to choose from each pose. I have a few that I like this round and a hand drawing that I really dislike, but will work on it more later. I'm unhappy with the pea-soup green.

This is one of the worst drawings I have completed in a long time. Part of the problem was that the oil stick I was using, stained the paper and could not undo mistakes. It would be interesting to go back on a future date, and try to make it pleasant.

There are a couple of nice moments in the neck, head, and lower leg, but the torso needs quite a bit of work.

I'm quite unhappy with this drawing, but will try more later.

Figure Drawing at SOMArts

My friend and I met at SOMArts to spend the afternoon drawing. My energy was not high, but there is one drawing I like.
Picture
Not too bad for a gesture drawing.
Picture
The proportions are really off on this one.

This one was frustrating to draw and I think it shows.

This is my favorite drawing of the day.

I really don't like this one.
