Although I did not get into this art show, I was included in the catalog. I was told by the curators that I was a finalist from the 200+ applicants, but didn't make the final cut.

Tonight I attended my friend, Kal Spelletich's closing for some of his recent sculptural work.

Today I visited my artist friend, Sarah A. Smith who is completing an installation that promises to be incredible! She showed me behind the scenes and it peaked my interest in applying to show work there. I was also surprised to see the inverted torch piece because I'm working on an installation piece using inverted torches too!
Root Division lost their original space, but tonight was the opening of their new studios. The rooms are small, but clean.
Today I visited the de Young Museum to see the Turner exhibit. I've always been a fan, but something really occurred to me. Turner was an incredible landscape artist, but his rendering of the human figure was not particularly good. Most of his figures look extremely awkward and stiff. On the other hand, his painting technique of skies and water is spectacular.
Today I visited SFAC Galleries to see the installation by Elisabeth Higgins O'Connor. It reminds me of my friend Rob Putnam's work.
Today I planned three things for a personal artist date. The first was to visit the Odd Fellows Building and take a couple pictures of the facade. The second planned things was a visit to the Wendi Norris Gallery for the Science and Surrealism show.
